2008 Mooseman 70.3
A few
did Mooseman, not sure of any stories but here are the results.
Here
are Matt McCue's thoughts on the day:
"Here's
a quick race report. Newfound Lake was nice and chilly (about 60
degrees on race day). We knew we were in trouble with respect to the
heat when it started getting warm 10 miles into the
bike.
The first time I saw the woman in the devil outfit just prior to a
straight uphill climb at mile 5ish, I thought it was cute. By the
time I saw her on the second loop, I was hoping that she came down
with heat stroke.
Rob and I saw each other on the bike course. He indicated that he
was "saving it for the run." Not a bad idea yesterday. I was bull
headed and kept right on trucking on the bike.
Mike Roberts and I passed each other on the run. He then caught up
to me and, as we chatted momentarily, he said, "I feel great!" He
also looked great, finishing 20th overall. I was wishing for an aid
station every half mile towards the end of the run. I couldn't drink
enough water and Gatorade.
This was my first 1/2 IM and definitely memorable. Post race, I had
to visit the porta potty multiple times, so I think that the
sun
got the best of me. All in all, a good day. I just need to add a
propeller to my wetsuit."
Dave
Mangold did the BullMoose challenge and did the Olympic distance
race on Saturday just for a little more pain and suffering.
