The following rules
are for all riders participating on a club ride. Please read and
understand them!
-
Be on time for
the ride start.
-
Be aware of
your level of fitness and ride with the appropriate group. Don’t
expect the entire group to continually wait or to turn back with
you.
-
Be
self-sufficient. All riders should have a basic knowledge of the
routes and be capable of getting back alone if necessary.
-
If you ride
off the front of the group, you should know the route. Don’t expect
others to chase you down to inform you of a missed turn.
-
If a Member
brings a guest, it is expected that they ride with that guest as a
sponsor.
-
Obey all
traffic laws, especially STOP signs. Cars will always win.
-
Point out
obstacles when in a pace line. The next injury or destroyed wheel
could be your own.
-
If you ride
two abreast, it is your responsibility to watch for cars back and
make every effort to get in single file.
-
When climbing,
look for cars back BEFORE you attempt to pass a slower rider.
-
Each member
should be prepared to “lead” a ride if called upon. Creating a route
can be done in advance, and a cue sheet kept in a seat pack.
The above is for
the safety and benefit of ALL riders. Your cooperation will make
everyone’s ride more enjoyable. Thank you! |
